Allowing
yourself to be, practically.
One of the beauties
of the Human Design System is that there are certain practical
aspects to it which can be clearly understood and easily implemented
into our daily life. When understood properly, the changes that
can be brought through the Human Design System are completely
transforming and reassuring in how we will continue to live
our lives. Simply put, we now have the opportunity to live our
own life from the place of feeling relaxed about everything
we encounter.
In the previous
article, I wrote of my experiences with systems and what they
can provide for us in our journey through life. In this article,
I examine a few of the essential things we need to know about
ourselves and highlight the incredible benefits derived from
the Human Design System.
My
personal experience as a reader
During my 21 years
of reading for people, I have encountered many who have had
readings from other sources prior to their readings with me.
Often, I would be challenged with statements indicating that
I was required to fulfill or confirm something that the person
had been told by another reader. It became apparent to me that
some people were 'frozen' in their life, expecting or waiting
for something that had been predicted to happen to them. This
was a pattern that appeared all too frequently, and which I
did my utmost to readjust in my clients' psyches. Yes, some
events are certain, but, no, the mind cannot grasp their full
significance and need not be weighted by expectation. Destinations
are wonderful, but the journey is the point. How you are in
your journey through life is what brings the essence to being
alive. Human Design shows you how to adore being yourself.
What
appears in the chart?
When one sees a
Human Design chart, one notices that some of the nine centers,
representing various organs or glands within the body, are colored
in. When a center is colored in, it indicates that, energetically,
it is turned on, running consistently throughout the person's
lifetime. It is, in a sense, fixed to operate in a certain way,
according to the channels connecting it to other centers.
Each of the nine
centers has a specific function and energy pattern, and depending
on whether it is consistently "turned on" or not, it determines
how a person will access that particular energy in their lifetime.
|
- The Head
Center relates to the pineal gland and represents the
pressure of inspiration
- The Ajna
Center, the pituitary glands, is our place of mental
awareness, the thinking center.
- The Throat,
the thyroid and parathyroid glands, is the center of
manifestation, articulation and expression.
- The Self,
the Liver, is the center of personal identity, direction
and love.
- The Heart,
stomach and thymus is the motivating center of
willpower.
- The Solar
Plexus, the kidneys and pancreas is the motivating
center of emotions and our potential for emotional
clarity.
- The Spleen,
the lymphatic system, represents the intuitive and instinctive
awareness center.
- The Sacral
Center, our ovaries and testes, is our motivating
center of sexuality and lif force energy.
- The Root
Center, our adrenaline glands is our motivating
center, of stress energy.
|
There
are three centers of awareness: The Ajna, the Spleen and
the Solar Plexus There are four centers of motivational
energy: The Heart, the Solar Plexus, the Sacral and the
Root.

Consistency
and Conditioning
One thing that has
to be pointed out is that there is no great advantage in having
a center colored in - i.e., "turned on". When a center is "turned
on" all the time it simply means that the energy is designed
to consistently be moved between two centers in a particular
way. When a center is not colored in, or "turned on" in the
design, the energies of that center come and go depending on
who connects into it from their own design. One can recognize
right away in a Human Design chart, from the colored centers,
how the energy is designed to move consistently and where, in
the white centers, a person is designed to interact with other
people to experience all the possible flavors of other energies.
One of the great difficulties in life comes from being overly
influenced by other people's designs where their consistent
(colored-in) makeup becomes a conditioning effect in our own
life (in our white centers). A design chart can show immediately
where we are prone to taking on other people's ways in the world
and where we can naturally allow ourselves to become wise by
detaching and viewing the interaction objectively.
Five
different Ways and how to appreciate them
Most of us are expected
from birth to "go out and make it happen." And almost without
exception we are frustrated in that expectation. Yes, this world
can be our oyster in which there are pearls to find, but each
of us, by design, has our own special way to find our pearls
and delights in life.
With design, we
see that there are five different ways that a person accesses
this world, and if we can accept the way that works for us personally,
then we can eliminate anger, frustration, angst, resentment,
and all kinds of disappointments associated with expectations
which do not result in any kind of fulfillment.
The
Manifestor
|
The model
for this world is the person we see as a "mover and shaker,"
the "doer," the "manifestor." In a Design chart, this
is someone who has energetic motivation connected to their
throat, the center through which manifestation passes
energetically.
Manifestors
make up 12% of the world's population and generally incur
the wrath and suspicion of everyone else: "Who said they
could just do whatever they feel like doing? And I cannot!"
Consequently, manifestors find their way blocked almost
from birth, and constantly dissipate their power and energy
trying to "get people out of their way."
If, as a manifestor,
you recognize this as a pattern in your life, there exists
a simple solution: "Speak!" Tell the person standing in
your way something about your plans. There is a good chance
they may feel less 'threatened', if you inform them about
what you are going to do. They may get out of your way,
and they may even lend their assistance to your plans,
because it is fun doing stuff with a manifestor! Of course,
informing others might be the last thing a manifestor
wants to do, but I can assure you, it is worth the effort!.

Paul McCartney is a manifestor who is well advised to
inform people of his plans in order to enjoy their full
support.

Oprah
Winfrey is a Generator who must be encouraged to wait
for a clear, inner, personal response to whatever the
Universe offers her so that she can feel fully engaged
in whatever she then does.
|
People who
provide the power source, the life-force energy in this
world are those who have their sacral center activated.
They are the ones with staying power, the generators,
the ones who, if they find themselves doing something
they have no interest in pursuing, can only stop their
momentum by 'jumping the tracks,' or quitting. Often,
generators find themselves involved in projects or committed
to someone or something that does not really hold their
attention and bring them joy. They are just doing it because
it seems like someone has to do it and they are the one
with the energy. Of course, they get intensely frustrated,
hauling blocks of stone up someone else's pyramid, giving
away their power wholesale to whoever asks. The lesson
for generators is to know from within themselves to whom
and to what to commit themselves.
The greatest
lesson for a generator is to learn to respond. Yes, you
have the energy to get all kinds of things done in this
world, but can you wait for your cue? If you can, then
all forms of frustrations are eliminated. Responding from
within yourself to whatever Existence sends your way,
in the great natural order of things, becomes a joy for
all generators.

Oprah
Winfrey's Mini-Reading
Oprah Winfrey was
born in Koscuisko, Mississippi on January 29th 1954 into a lifetime
which will have many chapters and changes for her and all who
esteem and love her. She would be the first to admit that her
life has not been easy to date but that she continuously gets
the reflection from everyone around her that she is one of,
if not the wisest person she knows, because of all the experiences
she has lived through!
Her wisdom increases
as she allows herself to examine both her inward and private
nature as well as her outgoing and public side. Often she finds
herself committing to things only to find out later that they
do not really suit her temperament or timing.
Enormously energetic,
canny, empathic and fun to be with, Oprah also slides into bouts
of depression and self-doubt for no apparent or rational reason.
Whenever she feels 'out of sorts,' it can be viewed as an opportunity
to go deeper into her creative view of things. Trying to come
up with a reason or 'cure' for her moods will be frustrating
in the extreme, rather, seeing the arrival of a mood as an appropriate
time to withdraw and recharge her great spirit, is the better
path.
One thing which
might not be apparent to Oprah is that her mind rarely agrees
with how she feels about life and the amazingly sensitive nature
that she has. Her mind is really a great gift for others in
trying to clarify or rationalize their lives but is not really
helpful for her own dilemmas. Her emotional sensitivity and
a natural way of making people feel like they 'belong,' launches
everyone with whom she interacts into their own search for their
spirituality and inner self. But this sensitivity is also what
rules her own life and it would have to be said, that if Oprah
is 'not in the mood' for something then it will only cause her
regret and frustration if she goes through with it.
A brilliant speaker,
Oprah is frequently amazed by what people will make of what
they hear from her. Certainly, she has nothing to prove to anyone.
As someone who we
see in Design has a defined sacral center, she is designed to
'respond' to whatever existence has to offer. Response, for
Oprah, requires waiting patiently for a deep inner clarity to
arise, for when she finds this clear response, nothing can stand
in her way and her successes in this world are assured to have
the most enormous impact in every realm of life.
The
Manifesting-Generator or Generating-Manifestor.
|
There are
people born with a Design chart that has an activated
sacral center in addition to a connection from a motivation
center to the throat. So, on the one hand, they can manifest
at leisure, and on the other hand, they are designed to
wait until they hear a clear internal response.
If you have
this design, I can only encourage you to wait for the
generator part of you to respond. These days, life seems
to offer more and more choices and possible doorways through
which we can take ourselves, so making good decisions
to involve yourself in something that really suits you
also becomes vitally important. Because anyone with a
defined sacral center has a good deal of trouble curbing
their momentum once they get started, it is essential
to get involved with 'right' things from the outset.
When, as a
Manifesting Generator, you hear a clear sacral response
and put that response into action energetically, you then
become a Manifestor. Consequently, if you have the design
of a manifesting generator, you can achieve great things
with minimal frustration when you allow the clear sacral
response first. But, you may wonder, who has time to wait
to hear a response? All I can say from the hundreds of
people who have experimented with this knowledge is, it
is worth the wait!
|
Hillary
Clinton is a manifesting generator who can find most satisfaction
in this life by waiting to respond and then following
through with her incredible individual power and abilities.
|
The
Projector
|
JFK
was a projector who when he felt himself recognized and
invited would amaze everyone at his amazing guiding, leadership
and unifying abilities.
|
Some of us
are not really here to do anything specific at all but,
rather, to help guide 'energy types' in a worthwhile use
of their energy. Projectors are the 'helms people', the
guides. They are limited in the amount of energy they
can dispense and, consequently, should allow themselves
to rest a good deal between activities. In fact, I always
recommend the inclusion of at least one really good armchair
in your life, preferably with a footstool! My reasoning
is, since you are designed to wait to be called into something
or other, why not make yourself comfortable in the meantime?
Rest, be comfortable while you wait!
Projectors
are designed to guide the use of other people's energy
and, consequently, they have to be recognized, energetically
for their ability to do so. As a projector, once you are
recognized, you have free access to that other person's
energy to get things done. Manifesting happens for you
in this life through connecting with the people who recognize
your abilities. The skill for a projector is in realizing
who has recognized your abilities and offered you the
right kinds of invitation. Again, you have an inbuilt
requirement to wait, and you can worry intensely as to
whether anyone will recognize and invite you. Remember
the armchair theory.
It has to
be stated that waiting for a good invitation is worthwhile
so that you can be included in activities and experiences
which are wholly related to you in this lifetime. There's
nothing quite like getting involved in the 'right' kind
of trouble!

The
Reflector
|
For about
1 percent of the world's population there are design charts
without any consistent activations, no colored centers
in them. There is nothing obviously energetically 'fixed'
in the design. They are in free-flow in this lifetime,
in among all the people in the world who have 'fixed'
agendas, that greater majority who are here to play within
certain constraints.
Reflector
people are the ones among us who are truly empathic and
can become immensely wise when they see and appreciate
the continuous shifts in everything around them.... and
take it lightly. They are the "priests and priestesses"
of old who are in touch with the community and the Universe.
The wise ones.
As a Reflector,
you will recognize the need to have time alone every day
so that you can clear yourself and release the energetic
influences of those with whom you have had empathic connection.
Often, you will need to take a survey from those around
you before making big decisions. You have to allow yourself
to be enormously patient so that you can wait to see things
from all sides before making a choice. In the end, when
you have enough time to see clearly, (this can even take
you a month at a time), you can have the most profound
view of anyone.

Rosalynn
Carter is a Reflector. She is truly one of the wisest
of people when she can be allowed enough time and space
to review any situation in her life.

Respecting
your Design
Let me be clear
that there is no such thing as a good design or a bad design.
The great beauty of recognizing your design is to see that you
are just here to be who you are. It is neither a better thing
to be, for example, a manifestor than it is to be a projector,
so long as you can recognize how things happen within the scope
of your own being. The trick is to know yourself first and then
to recognize who is equipped to do some of the things in life
for which you are not, to whom you would like to delegate, and
from whom you would like an invitation.
Comparison is always
useless since, in this whole Universe there are no two grains
of sand alike, let alone two people the same on this planet.
We each have our own special trajectory through our life and
the moment we respect it and can play within it most problems
drop away. Your Design reading explains to you succinctly what
exists consistently for you in this life. It also will tell
you how to make decisions that will always be the right decisions,
allowing you to move through your life with ease and confidence.
