The Voices of Light:
Peter Sellers - The Genius
Article #33

LIFE IS NOT SERIOUS AT ALL. You only have to look at a dog wagging his tail, or a bird singing in a tree, a tree dancing in the breeze or the moon shining across the ocean to quickly realize that life is a mystery to be lived rather than a problem to be solved.

We humans have the most wonderful way to come to our senses, and that wonderful way is through our sense of humor. We are unique in that we have the ability to laugh at just about anything. We can laugh at ourselves, we can laugh at others, we can laugh at the crazy things that happen in our lives, and we can laugh at the almost ridiculous yet wondrous joke that Existence has played on us. It is said of almost all the mystics, that in that moment of self-realization, in that very moment that they come to realize their most inner truth, they feel compelled to burst into laughter, having suddenly arrived at the punch line of their own mystery.

Occasionally, people are born with an extraordinary attunement to what is ridiculous in life and can exaggerate our behaviors in a way that can truly mirror everything that we take seriously, turning it around so that we can laugh instead. One genius, Peter Sellers, has left a legacy that bridges almost every aspect between the mundane and the absurd in human life. In this article, we will examine Peter Sellers' design chart to see if we can fathom and appreciate the source of his genius.

The Incarnation of Confusion and Clarification

Peter Sellers was born near London, England, on August 9, 1925 into one of the very rare Incarnations, the fixed Incarnation of Confusion and Clarification. Of the 112 different Incarnations that are possible for us as humans to live out, there are 64 of these rare Incarnations that are available for people born within a two to three hour period of time each year. We recognize these particular fixed and rare incarnations in a design chart, for a moment in time when the conscious sun is in the fourth line of the hexagram and the unconscious sun is in the first line of a hexagram. The human genetic code contains 64 genetic codons. Anyone who is born into one of these rare incarnations embodies the very essence of one of the 64 genetic traits implied in being human. In design terms, these particular incarnations relate to what is termed a 4/1 profile, and a 4/1 profile is one which inherently portrays consistent externalizing of an inner, unconscious characteristic.

pete1The Incarnation of Confusion and Clarification externalizes a willfulness to get what one needs in life to make life, work for the good of all through reference to what may or may not have worked in the past. The externalizing of this willfulness happens through an intense mental pressure filtering through a huge array of diverse possibilities that are both of a rational and irrational nature. One of the things that we humans must appreciate about the Earth plane is that we only have the ability to describe from our mindset what it is that goes on in life. We do not have the ability to be able to work "it all" out, especially with our minds. Regardless of this, our minds are always grasping in an attempt to make sense out of "it all."

The Manifestor

In design terms, Peter Sellers is born with a manifestor design. Manifestors make up a small percentage of the human population. From the very first day of their lives until the last moment, they are designed to be able to do, and catalyze "doing" in the lives of others, regardless of whatever else happens around them. The major part of the human population consists of those of us who are not Manifestors, and when we encounter a manifestor we are instantly challenged by the fact that Manifestors can do things anytime and anyway they want. Conversely, non-manifestors cannot actualize this "doing," at least, not without their help. Also, we can feel threatened that a manifestor will do something that will interrupt our life, and we can even feel jealous that Manifestors seem to get away with just about anything, whereas we cannot. So, immediately a manifestor is born, the lives of those who come in contact with him or her are changed.

pete4Infant Manifestors, while just getting on with their lives, exploring everything around them and doing anything that catches their fancy, can quickly meet the disapproval and concern of their parents, who find their child to be unmanageable. Almost immediately, Manifestors start hearing the words " no," " don't," "stop," and other instructions that prevent them going about their lives naturally. A manifestor child can be very confused by this and will quickly need to learn to communicate to those around them what it is that they are doing. The moment a manifestor can communicate something of their intentions, the rest of us can relax to some degree in the knowledge that we have, at least, been informed. We might even request of the manifestor that we can accompany them in whatever it is they are about to, because life is always interesting around a manifestor.

The Communicator

There are many different levels on which communication can happen. We readily identify with the spoken word, but there are other aspects in the human makeup through which communication can happen. We can readily attune to sounds, glances, body language and other ways in which we exhibit our feelings and intentions. In Peter Sellers' design, he has the channel the 26-44, the channel of the Transmitter, defined. pete5 Any defined channel provides an energetic consistency within the person's makeup. The channel of the transmitter has a natural attunement, aligned with cellular memory that stores a recognition of patterns of the ways in which we all function in our lives. It has the means to convey what it is that we really want. Although we may forget what it is that we honestly strive for in life, very often the truth is that we would like to have the things in life that serve us within a lifestyle that is harmonious. Peter Sellers could often show us through his role playing, many of the things that are dear to our hearts. Typically, transmitters are great peacemakers, having the ability to communicate the simple fact that we can all get along, no matter how different we might appear to be. Transmitters can very often and in compete innocence show others how foolish they are in getting upset over inconsequential things.

pete2Also in his design, Peter Sellers has the definition of the 57-20, the channel of penetrating awareness based in the faculty of intuition. This channel conveys a great sense of personal presence, presence that inspires everyone to be very alert and awake in the present moment. If we stop to examine all the trials and tribulations in our lives, we can see quite easily that problems only exist because we are concerned about issues in our past or in our future. The reality is that life only exists in the present. The more we encourage ourselves to move our awareness into the present, the more easily our problems dissolve. As the tempo of our lives picks up in these challenging times, we will all need to bring our sense of reality more and more into the present. Holding a clear intention in any given moment allows that intention to come to fruition.

The thinker
The third channel that Peter Sellers has defined, is the 63-4, the channel of the logical thinker. pete3 Anyone who has a definition in their mind centers is constrained to be thinking all of their waking life. Their mind will be rattling away, commenting and thinking over thousands of different thoughts, attempting to find conclusions and solutions to a myriad of different aspects of our world. Most of us have forgotten the very important fact that we need to be masters of our minds rather than slaves to our minds. The logical thinking mind that Peter Sellers has gives him access to a whole range of critical perception that explores the context of everything that appears to work in life and everything that does not. It is a mind that can literally comment on every crazy thing that we do as humans. It was quite clear in Peter Sellers' life that he had many occasions in which he could recognize the apparent strangeness of his own behaviors and knowingly exaggerate them to the great delight of his audiences. In his acting role as Inspector Clouseau, the police Inspector in "The Pink Panther," he played the part of a man living out a very particular form of logic who would constantly fall into his own traps because he was thinking too hard. In his acting roles in Dr. Strangelove, he played both the part of the rational man who through his rational acts would save the world, and he also played the part of Dr. Strangelove himself, the madman who could carry logic to the extreme and completely endorse the destruction of the world.

The spiritual man
It is said of Peter Sellers that he was a deeply spiritual man in his private life. Much of what was seen in his movie and radio career involved parts in which he played the knowing fool who had his audience laughing uproariously with almost every gesture or comment he made. Of all the work he did, there was an extraordinary movie called "Being There," in which he played the part of Chancey Gardener, an illegitimate son of a wealthy and discreet man who never owned to Chancey being his "love-child." Chancey was confined to work in the walled garden, never being let out of the grounds until his father died at a time when Chancey was already in his fifties. Apart from his loving contact with the plants in their seasons, the only other reality that Chancey experienced was through a remote-controlled TV that was confiscated from him when his father died and the house was closed down and Chancey was put out into the street. The movie developed as Chancey found his way into the world relying solely on the knowledge that he has of himself, nature, his plants and the movements of the seasons. He played the part of a pure, heartfelt, alert and natural man living in the present, and was found to be so extraordinary because of his ordinariness that everything he said and did had a profound effect on the world around him. Through this very endearing and humorous part he displayed the very essence of an enlightened man who knows, trusts and believes in himself, regardless of any outer influences in his life.

In some ways this movie reflects into all of our lives. We come into a strange world and instead of finding our way innocently and trustingly through it, we get caught up in the conditioning and expectations of those around us. The truth is, that each of us is unique and perfect as we are, and all we have to do is be our natural self, to maintain that perfection and allow that perfection to expand into the world.

In these rapidly changing times, we are called on more and more to allow ourselves to be ourselves, on our own authority, and never to forget the access we have to the greatest of all gifts, our sense of humor.
