Introduction: Chetan Parkyn explains how he was first told about the Human Design system in 1979, how it came into being in 1987, how he was introduced to it in 1993, and how it resonates exactly with people's search for meaning in life. Chetan draws from 14 years of full-time commitment to reading and teaching the Human Design system worldwide.
Day One
1. Overview of the Human Design System. What is it and how does it work? Chetan provides the basic introduction to The 'Body Graph' - its components & construction is illustrated and explained, mapping out the blueprint for the journey ahead.
2. The 9 Centers – A thorough and in-depth explanation, detailing each particular physical center, how and where they are connected, how they each affect our lives, and what they mean, whether they are defined or undefined.
3. Personality & Design. Three months before our birth, our genetic imprint is formed, and becomes part of our design, representing the unconscious side to our character. Our personalities are determined at birth, representing the conscious side. This segment explains the distinctions between the two, between personality/design and between conscious and unconscious characteristics, helping the student to grasp a deeper understanding about those aspects of their nature that are obvious to themselves and those unconscious aspects which affect their lives considerably and yet might be more obvious to other people than themselves.
Day Two
4. Design Type. There are 5 different types: Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector. Someone's type is determined by which centres are defined/undefined. Now that the student has understood the centres, they can learn to recognize the types. This is where your inherent nature can be found, providing a knowledge of your life-strategy. The obvious benefit of knowing one’s Design type is that one immediately finds acceptance in how to engage with others and one’s own life journey. A part of this section of the class will be experiential, where students come to directly experience their own type and the types of others.
5. Channels & Gates - there are 36 channels and 64 gates within each body graph and this is the genetic make-up of the human being. Who we are designed to be as individuals is determined by which channels and gates are active, defined or otherwise. This segment completes the understanding of the structure of the Body Graph. Students will be encouraged to become familiar with the names and descriptions of each channel and gate.
6. The Six Lines (Overview) - Each gate is further characterized by one or more of the lines of the hexagrams of I-Ching. This is where we can find a way of delving into the minutiae of someone’s makeup, scrutinizing the finer details. This is where it becomes deeply personal, recognizable and fascinating for the individual student. At this stage of the training, we will content ourselves with many of the generalities of the six lines. Chetan explains the influencing force of each of those six lines in a way that shows how perfectly we are all interlinked.
Day Three
7. Profiles - There are 12 potential profiles that are derived from the exact placement of the Sun at the time of birth. Any chart has one of these 12 profiles. Your particular profile is a snap-shot reading of how one best interacts with the rest of the world. With just a simple understanding of line information in the previous section, suddenly a whole picture starts to develop of how we relate with other people, how they relate to us and the way in which we naturally adjust to our own life journey.
8: Decision Making - This segment explains how to assert the authority contained within our design, utilizing our Designs to make better decisions in life. It describes in close detail how each chart shows exactly what our “decision-making” process is, and how to employ it flawlessly. The class will participate in exercises to illustrate and deepen this knowledge.
9. Bringing it all together – Beginning with the knowledge of how a Human Design Chart is constructed we reach an understanding of how the component parts are woven together to form a meaningful synthesis. The synthesis is then applied towards the reading of a Design chart. This theme will be picked up and expanded on in the second class starting February 15th 2008……
Class materials will be supplied.
The class will be well illustrated with many chart examples indicating various aspects of Human Design.
