Mini Reading for Oprah Winfrey

           Born with the sun in Aquarius, Oprah is a visionary who sees the possibility of a world in balance and the human family living in peace, and it is this that vision drives her life.   Because Venus the Venus planet symbolizing love, beauty and relationship, Is exactly conjunct her sun, Oprah’s unique way of expressing her love is through the contribution she makes to humanity.  Her moon in Sagittarius gives her a thirst for wisdom and higher knowledge, an enormous curiosity about life’s meaning, and a spirit of adventure that can make her hard to keep up with!  With Virgo as her rising sign, she can be a very perceptive individual who doesn’t miss a thing, and is capable of multi-tasking, but will insist that everything she does comes as close to perfection as possible.  Fortunately for most of us, but unfortunately for some, she also holds others to the same high standards she expects from herself.

          When we look at Oprah’s soul path, we see a dichotomy in her life that will at some point need to be resolved.  Our soul path shows the purpose for our lifetime from the soul’s perspective, and then our personality develops with the characteristics needed to fulfill one’s spiritual purpose.  Oprah’s soul path does involve making a contribution to society by introducing change that leads to an awakening of higher consciousness, but her challenge in this lifetime is to accomplish this without sacrificing her own pleasure and personal creativity.  She has a history, stemming from past lifetimes, of being a warrior for a worthy cause at the expense of her own personal well-being.  It is this “Joan of Arc” mentality that is being challenged in this lifetime.  Life poses the question, “can Oprah use her leadership qualities to inspire vision and transformation for humanity without losing her own personal fulfillment as a woman and an artist?”

          Each of us are born with inherent strengths and talents as well as weaknesses and challenges, and we each have the choice how we will use our challenges and strengths.  Capable of holding a fixed viewpoint until others give in out of sheer exhaustion, Oprah is an incredibly strong-minded individual who can be very persuasive and influential.  This characteristic is a strength, but can also be a weakness, depending on how willing she is to seek the truth and the highest and best outcome for all concerned.  This same quality of mental persistence, however, gives her that laser sharp ability to hone in on the essence of a story, get to the heart of the matter, and go straight to the question that will be the most revealing and meaningful.

          The great pain in her life has come in the form of personal relationships.  She has experienced loss, betrayal, sexual abuse (yes, you can see that in the astrology chart) and disappointment in love relationships.    For much of her early adulthood, her heart was not open to really receive love, and this was, of course, because of the pain she had suffered, but unfortunately that protective wall around her heart also kept her from experiencing the joy of deep, intimate love for many years.  As is often the case, our greatest challenges in life lead us to develop our strengths.  The lack of personal love in Oprah’s life gave birth to her great capacity to share her love with all of humanity, and this is, after all, what her soul intended for this lifetime.  Her early childhood trauma also gave her a drive to heal, leading her to various therapies and into a spiritual quest that has brought her the wisdom she now shares with the masses. 

          Deep, personal love comes to Oprah later in life as she begins to heal the pain in her past, let down her protective barriers, and allow herself to be fully loved.  For Oprah, the ideal soul mate is a great friend who grants her the freedom to share herself with the entire world, but loves her unequivocally and steadfastly.  This must be a person who is very sure of his own self, comfortable with his own accomplishments, and likes to have a certain amount of time alone, because Oprah is one busy lady!

          Her chart shows a tendency to create success in whatever she does, but particularly if she develops her talent for the communication arts.  She is a natural public speaker, writer and teacher, as well as a talented artist.  She also has a great sensitivity to beauty, and a flair for decorating, fashion, and film.  Although not necessarily in the traditional sense, she is quite psychic and highly intuitive.  Oprah exudes a large presence wherever she goes, naturally drawing attention to herself, and of course, we all know that she has used this gift to be the bringer of a new paradigm in the world culture.

          Some of Oprah’s greatest work may well be accomplished quietly, and without great fanfare as she matures and begins to seek more personal time in which to nurture her artistic talent and the great relationships she has managed to create while having an enormously public life.  Remember, her soul path, or life-purpose is to make a contribution to humanity that brings revolutionary change without sacrificing her personal life and happiness; to find the balance between giving to the world, and nurturing her own personal life and talents.  Through living her truth and developing her talents to the fullest, Oprah’s life has become a great gift to the world.
